Colombo Fire Service Department located in the western province of Sri Lanka, the city of Colombo is the administrative and economic center of the country. About one million people with diverse population and economic gap live an urban life in an area of 37 square kilometers. The city of Colombo consists of historical monuments, Portuguese, Dutch and British architecture, as well as modern style skyscrapers, and the port of Colombo, which is a leading port in South Asia, and a variety of famous local and foreign places.

The Colombo Metropolitan Municipality Fire Service Department carries out its operations with a set of extraordinary responsibilities.

Colombo Metropolitan Municipality Fire Services. Among the responsibilities of the department is fire. Improving regulations, regulating fire safety situations, conducting operational activities, conducting training activities. It is important to carry out preventive activities, to provide humanitarian aid and to build a safe environment for people to live normally

To fulfill these responsibilities, the Colombo Metropolitan Municipality Fire Service Department has a broad vision under the Chief Officer with a headquarters fire service station and five sub-service stations located in the Colombo metropolitan area. With the responsibility of protecting the Parliament of the Republic of Sri Lanka, which is the state interest, these sub-service stations have been established in front of the Parliament of Sri Jayawardenepura and further developing those functions, elite security standby duty services are also carried out.
